I met Marcia when we both worked at the Jewish Home in the Therapeutic Recreation Department.. She took me under her wing and was very gracious and giving. Marcia took great pride in her position as Music Therapist. The residents adored her and always looked forward to "Music with Marcia". Marcia treated the residents with respect and dignity.
Marcia will be deeply missed. Condolences to the entire Sherman family. May Marcia's memory be forever a blessing.

Marcia Sherman will always be in Madelyn and My memories for all of the wonderful times we shared at work supporting the Quality of Life for our Residents, and as Friends outside of the Jewish Home of Rochester sharing an evening dinner at various area locations - It was always a most pleasant evening of conversation, insights, humor, and culture - - Marcia and Jack's gift to us all is the wonderful Family that they created who will carry on the tradition of what the true definition of Family is; Enjoying one another's lives with respect yet genuine interest in the well being and happiness of others - I regret that our get togethers lessened as time went forward, but I do recall one my most significant New Years Eve was spent with Marcia and Jack at their Valley Manor Residence - Marcia will be in our memories for the lessons of life She shared including the borrowed Buick up Pike's Peak - - - Our Most Sincere Condolences to the Sherman Family, yet I know that their Matriarch and Patriarch will be the Spirit they share with those they meet in their lives - W

To all of Marcia's family and loved ones, so many prayers and thoughts have been with you, and i am so very sorry for everyone's loss, i felt so sad when i read about her in today's Democrat & Chronicle. I met Marcia and Jack years ago at the Jewish home when my very dear beloved grandmother Esther Solomon moved in there. it was always so good seeing them there. i will always remember Jack pushing her piano around the home wherever she was playing it. we loved seeing them and hearing her play the piano and sing so beautifully, she was so gifted to be blessed with being able to do that. Marcia was one of the sweetest, nicest ladies i have been blessed to have met. Some people touch your heart forever and like so many of our dear beloved no longer with us, she & Jack will always be loved and missed forever.

Amy, Jo, Skip and the grands~ I think you know how much mom meant to me all these decades, but especially the past few years where she would often share her wit & wisdom! I'll miss our girl nites at the movies, or dinners just sitting around reminiscing and the sharing of Jewish holidays. Marcia was sharp as tack right up until the end. My life certainly was enriched having her in it. Godspeed to all of your hearts. May Marcia's (and Jack's) memory be for many blessings! xox, Cindy

I send my condolences to the Sherman family on the passing of their mother/grandmother Marcia.
My memories of Mrs. Sherman began when Jo, Meg, and I attended Mrs. Dennis' nursery school and we were part of a carpool. Mrs. Sherman was always a bright, loving presence.
Mrs. Sherman brought so much joy to my grandmother Anna who lived at the Jewish Home for many years. My grandmother loved music and always loved Mrs. Sherman's musical programs.
Just before the COVID restrictions began, I saw Mrs. Sherman in Wegmans. She was remarkably unchanged--caring and vivacious. How fortunate all of us were to have her in our lives.

Marcia and I worked together for many years until we moved to Florida. She and I shared belief in the right to dignity respect and fun for everyone. I’m sure part of the fun came from some of Jack’s antics. More than anyone, Marcia recognized the importance of music in the lives of elders. Way before Music Therapy there was Marcia. Some of my best memories are of seeing faces light up when Marcia came rolling in with her piano. She spoke often and with pride about her family. You are blessed to have had her as your mother and I was blessed to have her as a friend and colleague. May her memory be for a blessing. Paulette Geller

I would like to send my condolences to Marcia's family. I was a classmate of hers at Monroe High class of '47. Even though I didn't remain in Rochester I always managed to get to the reunions and enjoyed visiting with Marcia there. Her husband and mine went to school together and so the two guys had something to talk about also. Sincerely, Rella Glaser Corris
