Obituary of Julian M. Gordon
December 16, 2019, at the age of 89. Predeceased by his father David; mother Leah; step-mother, Eva; and brother, Jerry. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Lillian; children, Stuart (Cathy) and Evelyn; brother, Paul; granddaughter, Jessica; and step-granddaughter, Christina.
Born in Warren, Pennsylvania, Julian graduated from Penn State as Marshal of the School of Liberal Arts and then served in the Korean War. Following graduate school, he embarked on a 38-year career at Eastman Kodak Company, which he ended as general comptroller and principal accounting officer.
In addition to being an avid tennis player, Julian was very active in community affairs. He served as president of Temple Beth El, chairman of the board of The Jewish Home of Rochester and chairman of the board of Preferred Care. He also served on the boards of several other organizations.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 2 PM in the Sands Center of the Jewish Home of Rochester (2021 Winton Road South). Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will sit Shiva on WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY from 3-5 PM at The Summit of Brighton (2000 Summit Circle Drive). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Jewish Senior Life Foundation or Temple Beth El in Julian’s memory.
