I’ve known Richard since his sister Laurie and I were in 7th grade. Richard was her annoying older brother until he got his drivers license, when he suddenly became the awesome big brother who would drive us to Jones Beach. Richard was the reason I moved to Rochester back in 1979 — long story — and I’ll always be grateful to him for that. He may have been the kindest person I’ve ever known — and was certainly one of the most insightfully brilliant. He will be deeply and profoundly missed.
