Edward J. Stabins
Passed away suddenly of heart failure while vacationing on September 12, 2007. He was 79.
Predeceased by his parents Mary and Max Stubinsky and sister Bernice.
Survived by his
wife Kathleen (Kay) Halsey-Stabins
brothers Robert (Gussie), Bernard of CA
sons Jeffrey and Richard (Christine)
daughter Lorena (Jack) McDonald
grandsons Keith and Benjamin Stabins, Scott McDonald
many nieces and nephews.
Ed served our country in both the Army during the Korean Occupation and served in the Air Force at Sampson Air Force Base in Seneca Falls. Ed was a retiree of the Rochester City Schools where he was a science teacher at Frederick Douglas Jr. High, East High, and later a substitute teacher/administrator throughout the district. Ed was an amazing athlete who loved to bike, swim, ski, golf, camp and compete in ballroom dancing. He was an avid runner of 10K's and marathons. Ed played the violin in the Brighton Symphony Orchestra.
The family will receive friends at Brighton Memorial Chapel (3325 Winton Rd. S.) on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday 1-2 PM where a Memorial Service will follow at 2 PM. Click here for directions to the funeral home.
There will be a memory book for the family, and we invite you to share a written memory or photo.
The Family will gather after the service at 23 Delancey Ct. in Pittsford until sundown. Map to the house of mourning.
