Reacquainted after many years when we were neighbors, and I was your babysitter; Paul signed his book with a personal message, and said, "I can't wait to tell Bea!" I feel honored to have known him.

My deepest sympathy to the Roxin family...I met Paul while working at the Bagel Bin at Twelve Corners, and not a Pearl Harbor Day passes that I don't think of "Paul the Pilot" fondly. To know Paul was a gift.

When we told Pam, Amy, and Dave of Paul's passing each one mentioned his story telling at Passover. I think about Lisa's birthdays and Les and Paul telling corny jokes and being each others best audience. Les thinks about how Paul tried to convince him to play an instrument. Today's service was a wonderful tribute to a much loved man.

To the Roxin family...I am so sorry
for your loss. I first met Paul at my Dad's, Roy Beaney, wake in 2000.
He came up & introduced himself to me, told me about his book & that my Dad was in it. After finding
out what an accomplished man Paul was & what his interests were, I met him at Jay's diner & gave him a substantial amount of
information my Dad had been keeping regarding aviation, pilots,
WWII...basically everything Paul was interested in. I met him again, but this time at his house where I
met, Bea, his lovely wife. After that, it was at Hegedorn's in Webster & the Big M in Hilton, where I found Paul set up at a table
with his book, "One foot on the Ground," & the newspaper article
that always went with him. When I
first saw the article...I was very surprised, as right there in front of me, was a picture of my Dad!! Any
way, Paul was a wonderful man &
because of him, I learned more about my Dad & what he went through in WWII. He was always so full of so much historic information that he could have taught it in school. I know that he
will be greatly missed by anyone
that ever knew him. God Bless the
entire Roxin family & thank you for
allowing Paul to educate us.
Always, Judi (Beaney) Dudley

So sorry to hear about Paul. And sorry I can not be there in Rochester on Monday. My most vivid recent memory of Paul was in Dec 2009. I was at Strong with Bernie and found out Paul was just a couple floors away. I went in search of him, and through some windows saw him walking quickly around on his tiptoes, demonstrating for the nurse how good his balance and vision were, and how ready he was to go home. It was a relief to see him so mobile that day. It looked like he could go on forever.

I became connected with Paul when I was 15. I was a clarinetist. Paul got me my first paying gig in 1986 as a clarinetist with the Brighton Light Opera Company. I am still an active clarinetist, and I am a band director and clarinet teacher for the Fairport Central School District. Over the last few years, I've enjoyed an occasional chat with Paul at his table at Eastview Mall. He was a wonderful man, and I will never forget the kindness he showed me and the confidence he helped cultivate when I was a teen.

Paul will be sadly missed - he had so much joie de vivre, always coming up with some new idea - usually in the middle of the night - for something that would enrich our lives. He had a full life, with many accomplishments. He will be lovingly remembered by all of, the may, whose lives he touched.
May your memories sustain you in this time of loss. My deepest sympathies to all of you.

I was so sad to learn of Paul's passing. He was a wonderful person, so full of life and love for his family, friends and the community. During my time as Supervisor of the Town of Brighton, I always enjoyed his spontaneous visits to my office at Town Hall where he would tell us his latest story or joke. His book, One Foot on the Ground, and his involvement in the Geriatric Pilots group, were clear examples of his deep commitment to aviation and Veterans. We will miss him. Bea, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Paul and my late father, Sidney, were close friends. They grew up together as kids, and shared the same paper route.
I first met Paul around 20 years ago. I played trumpet in the Brighton Symphony Orchestra, and Paul played clarinet. A few years after I left the orchestra, I learned of his passion and history with aviation, and I eagerly bought his book, whereby Paul autographed it for me.
In recent months, Paul has supported my efforts on behalf of symphony orchestra conductor, Arild Remmereit. Up until a few weeks ago, Paul called me every few days to see how things were going in this regard.
I will miss seeing Paul at Eastview Mall, where I often ran into him, while he was selling his terrific book.
Paul was a very special person, and I was privileged to know him. My sympathies go out to his family and friends at this very sad time.
