Dave, I was so sorry to hear your dad passed away.
I had every intention of seeing you last weekend, however, I came down with the worst of colds that weekend.
I've talked with a few of the guys since then, and hear you, Sue, and the kids are doing really well. That's great to hear! Would love to catch up sometime soon. In the meantime, our sympathies and best regards to you all,
Vin, Kim, Trevor

Jerry and I had many clients in common over the years and I worked one on one with him often. His humor made work a pleasure and his competence always made an impression. His family made his service on Sunday into a wonderful reflection of his personality. I will miss Jerry very much.

Jerry was my mother's cousin and he represented my wife Vicki and I for 30 years. Vicki recently passed away and Jerry not only sent a card but called as well. My wife and I thought the world of Jerry personally and there was no better lawyer on the planet. May G_d embrace him and comfort him for eternity. We will miss you Jerry.

Maxene,
My deepest condolences and prayers are with you over your loss. I was a client of Jerry's for 41 years. I saw him for the last time in January this year. You may remember me as the painter who painted the inside of your garage and did work inside the house. I will always remember Jerry as one of the special people I kenw.

A loved one is a treasure of the heart, and to lose a loved one is like losing a piece of yourself. But the love that Jerry brought you did not leave, for the essence of the soul lingers. It cannot escape your heart, for it has been there forever.
Cling to the memories and let them find their way to heal you. The love and laughter, the joy in the togetherness you shared, will make you strong. You’ll come to realize that your time together, no matter how long, was meant to be, and that you were blessed to have such a precious gift of love in your life.
Keep your heart beating with the loving memories, and trust in your faith to guide you through. Know that though life moves on, the beauty of love stays behind to surround and embrace you. Jerry has left you that … to hold in your heart forever.

Years ago as a new lawyer I had the good fortune to work with Jerry. He was a wonderful teacher with enormous energy and extraordinary devotion to the people he represented. By attitude and example, he emphasized dedication, quality work and enthusiasm, always with a twinkle of humor. He spoke often of his family and how important the love and support of his mother, and of Maxene and his sons were to him. We will miss him.

Jerry- Our floor is quiet now without you. There is no more bellowing or paging of my name. We all miss that. There will be no more of your endearments calling me “kiddo”. I will definitely miss our talks where I tell ya “you’re such a PITA”, and I will always remember your answer “I sure am, but you just remember that I’m your PITA!” I will always remember that -- along with many other memories we built over the last 6 years together. You and the memories will forever be within me. Your secretary, Beverly.

I do not remember meeting Jerry until around the time my father (Mike Lewis) died. Jerry gave me hope that the world would be a place of justice and hope at a time I had little faith that it was true. In the almost 2 years since he has provided counsel and concern beyod what I expected to receive. He has been an anchor for my sister and me. Even in his illness he made sure we knew he had left us in good hands.
To Jerry's Family,
I hope the expressions of respect and affection you see here will help you to know how many people feel the loss of Jerry. Know the world was a kinder, gentler place because of him.

When I moved back to Rochester, my Father took me to Jerry's office. I had not seen Jerry in many years. Daddy wanted Jerry to be my lawyer. He told me I could always depend on Jerry to take care of me... And he was right... When my Father died two years ago, Jerry was there for my sister and me.. But especially me..He said he felt like he had inherited me..I could go to him whenever I needed guidance.. And he did guide me..He always gave it to me straight.. But would always smile, put his arm around my shoulder, and with that glint in his eye.. He would say something funny. I always knew he cared and that he was looking out for me....My Father was right...I will miss Jerry so much. He was such a good man.

Although I have not seen Jerry since moving away in 2002, I have many wonderful memories of him from my years of working at Chamberlain, et al. His passion for his work and his love for his family was a joy to behold. To this day, and I'm sure many more in the future, I love telling the story of the 'sponge cake' I made him for his birthday :) He loved it so much we had to re-ice it so he could take it home for his grandchildren. My deepest condolences, he was one of a kind.

With sadness, Susan and I add our names to this Memorial for Jerry. I will always remember fondly the years at Cornell Law when we were roomates with Barry at 218 Eddy Street. We had great times together, but, even more importantly, our friendship extended over all of these years in good and bad times.

Jerry's son Derek and I were best friends growing up, and I will always think fondly of him. About 6 months ago, he gave my son Max a toy that he still loves to this day. I will always remember how much joy Jerry got out of giving it to him. Here's a brief movie I made of that day (Jerry's only in it for a few seconds):

I was so fortunate to have met Jerry.
I loved working and talking with him at Strong Cardiac Rehab. Being his primary nurse, he was one of my most motivated patients.
I always looked for Jerry on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons when he came in after work to begin his cardiac workout. He would always say to me, "you're the boss, I will do whatever you think is best for me."
Meeting Maxene and introducing my husband to her and Jerry was such a pleasure. We will surely miss Jerry's smile and wonderful
personality. Our sympathy to Maxene and the Greenfield Family.
