Al was a devoted husband and father. He was an ardent Labor Zionist who took his young family to Israel in 1947 and was there at the founding of the State of Israel. Alfred returned to Rochester with his family in 1950. Alfred was a Lifetime Contract Bridge Master. He loved the outdoors and instilled a love of nature in his children. He was an avid fisherman. He also loved music and dancing. He and his wife Sarah led the Swingin’ Eights Square Dance Club for many years. In their latter years they led the Entertainers Club and club members delighted audiences at nursing homes with their musical talents.
Al spent his last five years at St. John’s Meadows where he had many friends and enjoyed all that community had to offer. He recently transitioned to the Rochester Presbyterian Home (RPH) where he received excellent and loving care. Many thanks to VNS Hospice and the staff at RPH for making his final days comfortable and pleasant.
