Hello, First I would like to give my sincere condolences to the family for the loss of such a kind and caring mom and wife of Sy.
My name is Bill Schmidt and I grew up in the Tenth Ward of Rochester NY. Sy and his wife were such a staple in my life as well as many others due to the fact that they owned Sy’s Drug Store. This Pharmacy was not only a drug store, it had many types of candies, toys, tubes to repair your TV and radio and much more. My biggest memory of Sy’s Drug store was Hi Sy’s Day. Sy would put out a big table in front of the store and all the kids in the neighborhood came up and said Hi Sy, and he would give you a big candy sucker.
I guess I just wanted to say thank you to Sy and his wife for making my childhood memories so nice.
There is a FB group Childhood Memories in the Tenth Ward, I would love to invite Sy’s children to come and reminisce down memory lane with the 5000 others from 3 generations that lived in the Tenth Ward of Rochester NY.

I am still in shock over Cousin Helen passing (alav hashalom) and I have been thinking about her a great deal. I may not have seen her much over the past years, but she was always in my heart and I have fond memories of her. Cousin Sy, Sharon and Larry, I am sorry for your loss. She was an amazing woman, wife, mother and friend to all. Dad misses her very much also. He talks about her often. To the entire Margolis family, my deepest sympathy.
