Obituary of Toby Shinder (Jacobson)

Passed away on March 9, 2017 at the age of 89. Predeceased by her husbands, Seymour Jacobson and Solomon Shinder; parents, Frank and Emily Cohen; and brother, Robert Cohen. She is survived by children, Howard (Jenna) Jacobson, Nancy (David) Wallach and Barbara Jacobson (Tom); grandchildren, Rachel (Mike) Perry, Aaron (Gloria) Wallach, Jordan (Jen) Zwick, Caitlin Zwick, Grace, Henry, Gus, Rory and Gunther Jacobson; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Alex, Alivia, Emily, Madison, Cameron and George; sister-in-law, Fran Cohen; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Toby was a wonderful mother. She adored her life with Seymour and had a wonderful life with Sol as well. Toby graduated from Eastman School of Music. She had a degree in Suzuki Violin. Teaching small children the violin was her passion. Graveside Services will be held on Sunday at 11 AM in White Haven Memorial Park (210 Marsh Road). The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-4 PM at the Jewish Home of Rochester. Donations in Toby's memory may be made to Eastman School of Music.
