Obituary of Horace W. Becker

Horace W. Becker Passed away on April 18, 2013 at age 89. Predeceased by his parents, Lawrence & Minnie Becker & sister, Betty Weit. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Gloria; devoted children, Lester (Joan), Steven (Wende) Becker, June Becker; grandchildren, Carrie, Katie, Eric, Aaron, Alex, Andrew & Avery; great grandchildren, Tyler, Peyton, Brady, Jorja & Carter; brother, Bruce Becker. Horace joined what is now Xerox Corporation in 1958 as chief engineer and led the team that took the Xerox 914, the world's first plain-paper copier, from development into the product engineering phase and manufacturing. At the time of his retirement in 1988, Horace was Vice President of Xerox Research and Development. He is a former member of the Fuji-Xerox Board of Directors. A Memorial Service will be held at Temple Sinai (363 Penfield Road, Rochester, NY 14625 View Map) on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 10:30 AM.
