Obituary of Harvey Phillips

Harvey Phillips, DDS Passed away on February 11, 2014 at age 83. Predeceased by brother Emanuel and sister Shaine (Jean) Dorman. Survived by his loving wife, Alyne; children, Rochelle, David, Michael, Daniel & Ellen; grandchildren, Brian, Melanie & Samuel. A lifelong Rochesterian, Harvey was graduated from Franklin High School, attended the University of Rochester and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Buffalo in 1955. He served our country as a Dentist in the US Army at Fort Huachuca, AZ where he attained the rank of Captain. After his tour of duty, he opened his dental practice in Henrietta, where he became a fixture in the community, serving generations of patients for almost 50 years before transitioning out of the practice. He loved his patients as much as a patient can love their Dentist. Dad also loved golf. Playing it, watching it, reading about it and instilling the game into others. Joining Irondequoit Country Club, he bonded with friends who became golfers and golfers who became friends. He enjoyed playing bridge, meeting up with his discussion groups, and following the stock market. He especially looked forward to leaving the Rochester weather behind and spending 6 months of the year in Florida. Dad was passionate about Israel. He not only showed his support financially but also by visiting.Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Temple Beth El (139 Winton Road S.).
