Jack A. Erdle
Passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the age of 93, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Montreal, Quebec on June 3, 1922. Predeceased by his parents, Abraham & Rose Erdle; siblings, Hirsch Erdle, Reva Zeesman Harrington & Edith Schwartz Ferdinand. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Norma; devoted children, Brenda (Lee) Moss & Harvey (Nadine) Erdle; grandchildren, Erin (Jeff) Kaplan; Brett (Mimi) Moss; Jesse (Lisa) Erdle, Dr. Brandon Erdle; Tiffany (Kristian) Meyer; great grandchildren, Jake & Tyler Kaplan, Chloe, Samantha & Harrison Erdle, Ella & Avery Moss & Ayla Meyer; devoted sister-in-law, Celia Case & many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jack was the founder of the Eldre Corporation in Rochester and Angers, France. He wrote and published his life story, "The Age of Wisdom" for his 85th birthday. Jack was a member of Temple Beth El & Congregation Beth Sholom of Rochester & Temple B'nai Torah of Boca Raton, FL & instrumental in bringing the Chabad-Lubavitch to Rochester.
Jack was extraordinarily philanthropic throughout his life. He believed in giving back to the community where he made his success. He was a significant donor to: Rochester General & Strong Memorial Hospitals, University of Rochester, Rochester Institute of Technology, Nazareth College, Temple Beth El, the Jewish Federation, the Jewish Home, the JCC, Jewish Family Service & many other Institutions and Individuals were the beneficiaries of his generosity.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Jewish Home, Strong Memorial Hospital & Boca Regional Hospital for the wonderful care Jack received as well as the Care Giving Group of Beverly Fox Schantz.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. in the Main Sanctuary of Temple Beth El (139 Winton Rd. S.). Click here for directions. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 221 Georgian Court Road on TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, FRIDAY 2-4 PM and SUNDAY 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Click here for directions to the house of mourning.
