Obituary of Bess Whittaker

Passed away peacefully on May 6, 2016 at the age of 104. Predeceased by her husband, Morris and son-in-law, Henry Epstein. Survived by her daughter, Louise Epstein; grandchildren, Geoffrey (Judy) Epstein, Steven (Tomas Zillmann) Epstein, Neil (Laurie) Epstein and Linda Epstein; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Epstein, Janet (Paulina) Marek, Isabelle and Harlie Epstein; niece, Ann Kaplow; many dear cousins, especially Martha; and her constant companion, Cindy. The family would like to send grateful thanks to Bess' caregivers Jean, Amy, Sue, Peg, Patti, Pat, Brittanee, Jill, Kennette and Jennie for their capable and devoted care. Bess was able to enjoy a long life due to the extraordinary care she received from Dr. Paul Fine, Dr. Richard Constantino and Dr. Michael Falkoff and it was enhanced by her many loving friends, especially Bob, Monica, Robin, Lynn, Sue & David, Ann Parker and Mary Jane. Funeral Services will be held on TUESDAY at 12 NOON in the Sanctuary of Temple Beth El (139 Winton Road South). Internment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will sit Shiva on TUESDAY from 7 - 9 PM at The Summit At Brighton (2000 Summit Circle Drive) and WEDNESDAY from 2 - 4 PM & 7 - 9 PM at 137 Heatherstone Lane in Brighton. Donations may be made to Rochester General Hospital Foundation for The Louise and Henry Epstein Family Pediatric & Young Adult Emergency Department (100 Kings Highway South, Rochester, NY 14617) or a charity of one's choice in Bess' memory.
