There will never be another dentist like Dr. Melvin Shapiro. I feel so fortunate that I found him after moving to the area many years ago. I had a bad experience before coming to Dr. Shapiro, and appreciated his caring, competent and professional manner so much. The world needs more people like him. I was always amazed that when I would call to schedule an appointment he would answer his own phone, and when I would get to my appointment he was always ready, standing there waiting for me with a warm hello and a smile. Then he would get to work doing what he did best. What also amazes me is the tremendous pride Dr. Shapiro took in his work. He put a crown in for me over 20 years ago and it is still holding strong! He would check it at every visit and proudly announce, "The crown is still holding up just fine!" He also recommended some excellent specialists when I nedded one. I enjoyed his stories throughout the years, especially the ones of when he was in the service. Heaven has truly gained a wonderful man and dentist.

We were saddened at the loss of our long time Dentist. Dr. Shapiro was always prompt, professional and yet personable. The personal service he rendered was unparalleled whether it be a regular check-up or an emergency service on a holiday. We are pleased to have known him. Our sympathies to kind Mrs. Shapiro and the family.

Mrs. Shapiro, we were truly sadden to read of Dr Shapiro's passing. We had been patients of his for over 40 years. He always made us feel calm, relaxed and comfortable during his care. Also, we never had to wait. Always enjoyed our conversations about traveling. We will miss him very much.Our condolences.

I believe I was your father's nurse in the emergency room at Highland. I am saddened to hear of his passing. I was assisting the doctors while they spoke with him...at one point I actually teared up, not only because he reminded me of my father, but because I was reminded again how vulnerable the human body is. I tried very hard to take good care of him after the two ladies who (daughters?) were with him went home. He woke up after his fever broke and we had a meaningful conversation that I will always remember. I made sure he understood what the docs were telling him and he asked if he was going to make it, if I was going to be his nurse for the rest of the night, etc. I stayed late to see him up to the floor. I am truly sorry for your loss and hope that he went peacefully home to God.

I was a dedicated patient of Dr. Shapiro's for almost 30 years. He was a wonderful professional and a wonderful man. He will be greatly missed and I want to extend my sympathy to Mrs. Shapiro.

I've known Melvin since renting the office across the hall from his almost eleven years ago. I will miss his visits and enjoyable stories. He was always supportive and will be sorely missed. Mitzi, my heart goes out to you and your family with deepest sympathy. We will keep in touch with you.
