Andrew S. Lovenheim, 96, died suddenly at home, October 21, 2012. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, June, and brothers, Clifford and Earl. Survived by children, Robert (Christina Zabih), Jane Glazer (Larry Glazer), and Peter; grandchildren, Sarah Lovenheim (Zachary Goldfarb), Valerie Lovenheim (Oren Adaki), Benjamin Lovenheim, Mindy Mac- Laren (Tom MacLaren), Richard Glazer, and Kenneth Glazer (Patricia Glazer); and great-grandchildren Hazel Glazer, Charlie Glazer, Emma Glazer, Evan Glazer, Ava MacLaren and Beatrice MacLaren; many nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Andrew was co-founder in 1939 of Great Lakes Press Corp. He continued his relationships with former employees long after the company was sold in 1985. He valued the many friendships he made at the JCC Men’s Health Club, where he was one of the oldest members. Andrew belonged to Irondequoit Country Club for more than 70 years, serving as president and then as a board member through 2011.
Andy was blessed with a long and happy marriage, a large and loving family, and a wide circle of life-long friends. He retained his strength, sharp mind, and optimism throughout all his 96 years. He grew up in a home without electricity; the night he died he read a book in bed on his Kindle.
