Obituary of Meyer Blair

Meyer "Mike" Blair "Pop Pop" Passed away on December 16, 2013 at the age of 80 at home in Rochester, NY. Predeceased by his son, Brett; parents Esther and Max and mother-in-law Suzanne Handlin. He was the beloved husband of 57 years of Leslye; devoted father of Cindy Blair of Rochester and Scott Blair (Michele) of Greenwich, CT. He was the adored "Pop Pop" to Mallory Blair Greitzer of Brooklyn, NY and Spencer and Madison Blair of Greenwich, CT. Born in Rochester on February 8, 1933, Mike graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1951 and attended Rochester Institute of Technology. After his time in the service, he was an accomplished mechanical engineer with numerous patents to his name, he retired from Harris Corporation. Mike’s vast knowledge of all things mechanical was sought out by professionals, friends and family alike. Mike and his wife Leslye operated Boys Country clothing store in Brighton for over 20 years. The devoted employees at Strong Memorial Cancer Center were a savior over the past seven years. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the countless institutions, friends, and neighbors who were so helpful during this difficult time. The family wishes to thank all the doctors & staff of Strong & the Wilmot Cancer Center, the amazing people of Lifetime Care and the families community of friends for their loving and constant support. Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 1 PM at Brighton Memorial Chapel, Inc. (3325 Winton Road S.).
