Obituary of Leslie Stein

Leslie passed away peacefully on September 28th, 2020 while holding the hand of her friend Liz Gruttadaurio. She leaves behind her husband of 7 years Michael Grainsky, her sister Beverly Perl, niece Elyse Perl and nephew Michael Perl. In addition, Stepdaughters Alana and Jamie Grainsky, grandson Nico and loving dog Theo.

Leslie spent 33 years as a teacher in Spencerport, New York, 7 of which she served as union president. A teacher of teachers, Leslie mentored hundreds and touched the lives of countless students and their families. As a couple Mike and Leslie travelled extensively, and their love for the RPO, theater and one another was unbreakable. Leslie’s vibrant personality, sense of humor and compassion for others was deeply appreciated by all those lucky to know her. She is deeply missed and dearly loved.
