Marilyn was a very dear and loyal friend for well over 40 years. We met when our daughters became friends in elementary school. We enjoyed sharing our May birthdays with our "lunch bunch" where we bonded over many years. Marilyn was a wonderful cook who served us delicious and nutritious meals while we talked about our kids and, in later years, shared pictures of our grandkids. She showed a great flair for writing as she wrote delightful stories, often about her beloved dogs, and restaurant reviews for a local newspaper. Marilyn loved working with refugees whom she helped in many ways. I will never forget my wonderfully kind friend of so many years.

My condolences on the passing of Mrs Forman. I met her first few years ago as I delivered Friday “ challah “ from Pittsford Chabad. Her kindness and appreciation for me coming to her door was uplifting. She invited me in and I know I received more nachos from that visit. Glad I was able to deliver to her a few more challah’s. May she Rest In Peace! Wish I had met her years before.

The Furman’s and Utech’s lived just two blocks apart in Knickerbocker Hill. Over many years Marilyn and I became fast friends, taking so many walks in the neighborhood, talking over and of course solving world problems. Marilyn was a sensitive and insightful woman. She Had many interests and cared deeply About her ESL students, her gourmet cooking and restaurant reviews, her very precious dogs, and her three beloved daughters. Ron was her devoted caregiver enabling her to live out her years at home. Marilyn was a very dear friend who will be sorely missed.

I first met Marilyn about twenty-five years ago when my daughter was about three years old. I met Marilyn while I was walking and she was walking near my house. We started conversing and realized that we had a lot in common, including love of foreign languages(she studied French in college), our faith, and love of music. I remember one time that she was excited when I told her that I had just baked hamentaschen which are pastries that were eaten and baked during the Jewish holiday of Purim. I packed for her a few of them and I think she liked them. We saw each other occasionally during our walks, but it wasn't until about ten years later that our families connected. Mike had lively conversations with Marilyn's husband Ron, and we would sometimes go out to dinner, see a movie, or just chat. Sometimes our daughter, Shoshana, would come with us. Marilyn invited us once to dinner, and she was a most gracious hostess.
I am so glad that I had the chance to meet the "genuine" Marilyn before she succumbed to Alzheimer's and other ailments.Marilyn was truly a beautiful lady, inside and out!

I met Marilyn when I was freshman at the University of Colorado in Boulder. I had great respect for Marilyn, her intellect, her empathy and her kindness. She became my pledge mother and we were close. I married at the end of my junior year and left Boulder for California where I ended up in what would become Silicon Valley. Marilyn and I continued our friendship through the years and were bound by others who knew her through SDT. I believe that Marilyn could have been another RBG, a star shining brightly as her potential was great yet went unrequited. I send sympathy and condolences to her family. She will be sorely missed by both friends and family.

I am saddened to learn that Marilyn has passed. She came into my life when we met at the proverbial bus stop sending our children off to school. She learned we were new to Pittsford and welcomed my family by inviting us to dinner and making us feel part of our new community. Soon she and three other friends became a "lunch bunch" meeting to celebrate our birthdays for the past 40 years. When I think of Marilyn, the first word that came to me was "good". Her heart was always there for anyone who was in need, whether her friends or family or someone in the community. She loved her family... children and grandchildren... deeply. My life was blessed to have known her.

I'm so sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing. Our families were very close when I was young and she liked for us to call her "Mommy Furman." I remember her kindness and her devotion to her daughters Lisa, Pam, and Rachel. She always supported them, whether it was music instruction or athletics. She loved to cook and to stay engaged intellectually. I remember her hosting a wonderful surprise party for my dad at her house over 40 years ago. My sincere condolences to her family.

Marilyn was a very close friend of mine for over 50 years. She had a winning smile, a good sense of humor and a deep love for her three daughters, Lisa, Pam and Rachel. She also had a passion for cooking tasty and innovative meals Family was the most important part of her life. I will miss her terribly.
In addition to her devotion to her family, Marilyn for several years delighted in being a food writer for one of the Rochester newspapers. I enjoyed going with her to some of these restaurant visits and noticing her close attention to the restaurant atmosphere, decor, quality of food and service. After graduating from college, Marilyn received a Fulbright scholarship, spending time in France.
Marilyn also served as President of Young Audiences, a group which tried to educate young children about music. She was active in many other community organizations.
