To all of Florence's family and loved ones, so many prayers and thoughts have been with you and i am so very sorry for everyone's loss. some of us go way back from temple beth david where my dear beloved grandfather Aaron Solomon was the Rabbi for many years, and some of you may remember my dear beloved grandmother Esther Solomon too. And some of us went to west irondequoit high school. Nina- i want to thank you too for being a good nurse and taking care of me whenever we saw each other at Dr. Chiang's office and all the good care you gave me. i know you will remember me asking about Florence whenever we saw each other.and i will always remember her, David and Harold too. good people. some memories stay with us forever, and in our hearts always. like so many of our dear beloved no longer with us she will be missed and loved forever and i had to let you know i was thinking of you.

I came to Rochester in 1969 to begin working for Kodak and soon met Dave Phillips in the building where I worked. I soon met Florence and the two of them were the main reason I joined Temple Beth David a year later. She was a wonderful lady and my condolences go out to the entire family on your loss. Ira Goldman

Dear Phillips Family, Florence was an amazing woman, who was committed to our Synagogue and many other organizations. We was a change maker...from founding Temple to ensuring that it was and is an egalitarian community. I learned much from her over the years, especially these last couple playing Maj Jong with her at Wolk. May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem, and may beautiful memories sustain you during this difficult time. Helen (Przewuzman) Kashtan

Dearest Phillips family ~ when I moved to Rochester in 1968 and joined Temple Beth David, Florence Phillips was one of the first women whom I met. In my involvement with Sisterhood and subsequently the National organization, WLCJ, Florence served as a mentor, confidante and good friend. Now, 52 years later, I remember her with loving fondness: she leaves a worthy legacy.
May her memory bring many blessings to all of you: Florence Phillips was a true Women of Valor.

I have such a strong memory of Florence running toward me on a summer day in Vine Valley - probably in the late 1980s. I was wearing a Jewish music festival shirt and she couldn't believe she was seeing a fellow Jew in Vine Valley - where I lived year-round until the late 1990s. We became friends on that day. She will be missed by so many. To Florence's family - may you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem, May beautiful memories sustain you during this difficult time.
