To our special friend Miriam,
Your corny pun had us chuckling at the pre-yom kippur meal we shared together shortly after moving to Rochester, NY. We had the privilege of getting to know you slowly over the next couple of years. Your humor, faith, love of learning, and devotion to your late husband Yaakov always stood out. Your positive perspective on life and dedication to keep moving forward, even in the hardest of times will forever be an inspiration to us- and our son, Michoel Yaakov- will always remind us of the special family after whom he is named.
We love and Miss you.

I met Miriam after her engagement to her husband Yaakov. Yaakov used to live with my family for several years up until his marriage to Miriam. He always spoke so eloquently of Miriam's middos and the mitzvahs that were natural to her. They were both meant for each other and it could be seen and felt through their sense of humor and frumkeit. I know she always missed Yaakov after he passed away but she always maintained her sense of humor to uplift others. Miriam never failed in sharing written tributes comforting bereaved families of those who passed away from the Jewish community and I am truly surprised and disappointed that those who knew her have not written about Miriam here...Ira S.
