Stan was a genuine class act as a boss, a mentor and a friend. His infectious grin was contagious and his enthusiasm was truly inspirational. I often refer to my autographed copy of his book “Elements of Induction Heating” for reference into the magical world of magnetic flux fields and still, to this day, use one of his favorite phrases: “One test is worth 1,000 expert opinions!”. Stan was truly a passionate “family guy”, both with his own beloved family, as well as anyone else that he came in contact with. I swear that he knew, by memory, the names, ages and hobbies of all of his co-workers, as well as his numerous sales clients. I shared with Stan his love of nice cars and truly had a crush on his midnight blue Buick Riviera.
And one of his most endearing nuances was, after calling you from his cell phone and talking with him for 10 minutes or longer, you would say your good-byes and hang up…and then… within 10 seconds, your phone would be ringing again…and, without looking, you would answer “Hello Stan”! (BTW: I still answer with “Hello Stan” when my wife does a similar phone sequence when she is out shopping!)
Stan was truly a colourful, wonderful person and will be missed by all who knew him…. but he will still make us crack a grin whenever we think of him!
