I shared my condolences and thoughts with Paul right after Dorothy passed but definitely also wanted to post here to share with all who loved her as Dorothy was a very special woman. My family grew up across the street from The Rosen Family and loved her like our second Mom - she was always so calm, gentle and patient, even when "parenting" us with her awesome New York accent. As someone who is tall and went through that phase as a kid where I shot up past my peers and every boy, I could look to Mrs. Rosen as a lovely example of a tall women who owned it - and even had feet bigger than my twin and me! She was a wonderful bestie to my Mom, and helped her keep her sanity raising three girls within 2.5 years of each other. I have so many memories of us playing in the sprinkler and drinking Kool-Aid with Michael and Paul on lazy summer days, celebrating Halloween together, joining our families over meals and learning about Passover Seder, and on more than one occasion getting into some trouble together. Mrs. Rosen was always inspiring with how she kept active and busy - going to tap dancing classes, playing in the ocean, authoring a column where she provided advice on finances. We all loved her dearly and loved her friendship with our Mom. The attached pictures are my mom and Dorothy taken in 1992 on my Mom's 50th birthday celebration and then a gorgeous picture of Dorothy with my sister at her wedding in 2000. Sending my deepest sympathies to all who loved Dorothy. Hope we all are taking some comfort in that she is at peace and free now.

This picture of Jon, me and Dorothy was from the first time I met her. She welcomed me to the family with such warmth and with a true desire to connect. Jon remembers how happy she was for us on this day because she saw how happy we were together. The other pictures are from a birthday celebration for Maxine. Dorothy was such a wonderful, caring person. She'll be missed.

I was lucky enough to meet Dorothy during the early days of Bankrate.com. I was a new manager and she was one of our first hires. Little did I know she would be a significant part of my life for the next 20 years. In this photo from 2010 she was teaching my children how to hula hoop. This is how I choose to remember her. Full of life and giving lessons. I will miss her dearly, and I am so happy that she was in my life. Sending prayers for peace to family and loved ones. ~ Monica

Some photos quickly pulled together at Michael's wedding. I also have a great video of Dorothy dancing with Michael at the wedding. So smart. So sensible. So generous and caring. Will write more later when I find the early photos and some of her and Baby Ben.

When I was a mom of young kids, Dorothy gave me the Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein as a reminder to set boundaries. That book makes me think of her. Join in honoring their life - plant a memorial tree

Dorothy was a second mom to me growing up on Arlington Avenue. She has been a constant presence in my life over many milestones since we moved away from Highland Park in the 80's. She loved fiercely and the world is a little less bright without her.
