Nelson & Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of Charlotte at Brighton High School. She was the first ESOL teacher I ever knew. She helped break me in as a new school administrator (Director of Humanities) in the mid-80’s. She also set a high bar for establishing an excellent ESOL program in the high school and the district. A holistic approach to education with an “always students first” mantra served our community well. When I left BHS as principal in 2002 the ESOL program was one of the best programs in Monroe County thanks in part to Charlotte’s pioneering efforts. A life well lived indeed!

We send all our love and support to the whole family at this sad time. We'll always be grateful to Charlotte and Nelson for having us at their wonderful Pesach seders while we were attending the University of Rochester in the 1970s, and we're so glad we got to see them on our last two visits to Rochester in 2015 and 2017. May we all find comfort in our many loving and lovely memories of our beautiful cousin. All our love, Deb and Rachel Schaffer

The extended Samuels family (Ellen, David and his family, Paul and his family, and Ronald and his family) extend condolences upon the passing of our cousin Charlotte (first cousin of our late husband/father Allen Samuels). May her memory be a blessing. May her family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Israel.

Charlotte was always so welcoming when I would come to the cottage. She had a great charm and was always upbeat. It was impressive to see her swim across the lake and she will be missed. Thanks for the memories at Keuka and for putting up with our crew.
