Obituary of Emily G. Camhi
January 8, 2020, at age 98. Aunt Em, as she was affectionately known by her large family, was a proud Rochesterian for nearly 99 years. Fiercely independent, she led an active and full life. Whether Emily was cracking jokes with her 5 AM swimming pals at the JCC, playing bridge several times a week at the Summit where she lived for many years or dining out with the 21 Club (dear friends who shared her birth year), she was constantly on the go!
Emily was the daughter of Morris and Grace Camhi and the youngest of seven siblings, all of whom predeceased her. Her brothers were Hyman and Jerry Camhi. Her sisters were Rose Aroeste, Alvira Raphael, Sally Peters, and Lee Levy. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a community of loving friends.
Graveside services will be held on TUESDAY, January 14th, 2020 at 9 AM in Stone Road Cemetery (Pearson Street entrance) Click here for directions.
Donations may be made in her memory to Congregation Light of Israel, 1675 Monroe Ave., Roch., N.Y. 14618 [LINK].
