Obituary of Edward P. Rosenberg
December 20, 2019. Predeceased by his parents, Harry J. & Eva R. Rosenberg; brother, Herbert N. Rosenberg. He is survived by his partner, John S. Pearsall; several cousins & many friends. Born in Rochester in September 1932, he graduated from Brighton High School in 1950. He then attended RIT majoring in graphic design, earning two degrees. He then became an Art Director in a Rochester advertising agency. He pursued this career for 17 years until he had a "mid-life crisis" in 1970 and decided to change professions and returned to school, Syracuse University, where he pursued a career in Library Science at the urging of several librarian friends. He was always interested in books and reading and received his Masters in Library Science in 1972. Fortunately, he found a position with the Rochester Public Library and spent almost 20 years at the Winton Road Branch Library, retiring in 1993.
He lived with his partner in the Claude Bragdon Landmark House "Cronest" where he enjoyed gardening and his kingdom of "wild" animals including raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, birds, and deer that roamed the area. He also enjoyed traveling with his partner & friends. He traveled to the British Isles, all the countries of Europe, Russia, Greece, Egypt, China, Hawaii, Thailand, and South America. He enjoyed photography, and took 1000's of color slides & offered travelogues at branch libraries. He also enjoyed film and theater.
"I lived life to the fullest and never lacked anything." he said.
