I just read in our Rodef Shalom Temple bulletin about the death of Katey. I have many wonderful memories of her here in Pittsburgh. We worked together on a League of Women Voters report on mental health in the schools and in l987,on the United Nations Year of the Child program. She was close to another Pittsburgh friend, Sybil Lowy: I knew they grew up together. I can still hear her voice in my head. What a wonderful person, so positive and warm. What a humanitarian, she cared about helping others. Somewhere along the way, however, I lost touch with her. I do remember her talking about how important each of her children were to her. Katey surely lived a long, full life. I miss her and hope ;your memories will help in your great loss. Carol Berger

Kate was a treasure of memories both from the old country(s) AND THE NEW> Her stories were told with great enthusiasm and her memory was sharper at 99 than mine is at a whole-lot less. At long last, her and Max (and Nelli) are reunited. May Your memories (and mine) NEVER diminish.

Katie and I met when her family wanted her to make a move to Rochester. Once at The Summit, she truly embraced her new community. She shared many stories with me about her beloved family and Squirrel Hill. May her memory always bring a smile.
