I worked at Farm Brook with Barry for 3 years, and he was such a sweet, funny man. My favorite thing about Barry was that his eyes would water when he was enjoying a good meal; he loved to eat and savored every bite! Barry also loved his friends and family and loved spending time with them. I am sorry to hear of his passing, he will be dearly missed! Here is a photo of Barry and I from my days at Farm Brook.

I have known Barry for the past 20 years in my role as the Jewish Life Consultant for his Farm Brook group home and as his teacher in the Kollel Jewish Living Program at Brith Kodesh. Barry enjoyed leading singing and reading for the class. His favorite joy was finding the Afikoman at the annual Passover model Seder. Barry was a sensitive, friendly, and kind man. I will surely miss him. May his memory be a blessing for all his family and the many people who knew and loved him. Elliot Fix

Barry was indeed a favorite of mine in the art classes I participated in with Elliot Fix. He always called me by name and we had good times. A pleasure knowing such a lovely man.

Dear Dolores, deepest sympathies on Barry’s pre-mature passing. I met Barry many years ago as an ARC facilitator. From our first meeting ,Barry’s authenticity and warmth was immediately welcoming. Over the many years since, he would always greet me with the same warm and enthusiastic greeting. Barry helped teach me so much ... humility, kindness, truthfulness, integrity and a zest for life. He was a true gift.... I was blessed to have him cross my path. Lovingly, Sue

Dear Jill, Louis and family: I was so saddened to hear of Barry's passing. I had the joy of working with him for a number of years in my first job, as the psychologist and then Director of Clinical Services at ARC. My husband Louis and I loved seeing him at the Jewish holiday celebrations we coordinated for the residents over those years. He was always a gentleman, with a ready smile and an enthusiasm for any opportunity he had presented to him. It was a privilege to have known him, and to have shared many holiday meals with him. May his memory forever be a blessing.
With love,
Jodi and Louis Atkin

Dear Delores,
I was so sad to see that Barry passed away. As you remember the story, when I was 14 years old Barry would watch me dive at ICC and he wanted so much to learn to dive. I spent part of that summer teaching him and he became my special friend. I think you may also remember because of him I majored in special education in college. I always enjoyed seeing him over the years at temple greeting. Please know I am thinking of you at this sad time and keeping you in my prayers. Fondly, Bobbi Rubens
