I’m not sure why he popped into my head tonite. When I met him at Strong Memorial when I was in my early 20s as a nurse and then he became my health care giver for several years. He was the best both as my Doctor and someone I admired for years. I’m now 78 yrs old. I was a baby when I met him and he was just a few years older but a giant back then to me. When tonite I looked him up and saw he was gone, I was sad but happy that I knew him and today he, in my memory, is still a giant. Rest In Peace my friend.

Our sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Pincus.
Over several decades we grew to see more than a physician, a friend who we would catch up with a few times a year.
He was knowledgeable, smart and honest.
Sometimes you need a push, sometimes a shove.
Once I had a situation at work involving a reaction to chemicals.
As we dealt with it, he told me to leave that employer.
When I hesitated, he said to do that or find another doctor.
I quit that job and we stayed with our friend.

Dr. Pincus was a good doctor. He really cared for his patients. He was compassionate and dedicated. He was also a scholar and held opinions very strongly, but was willing to listen and amend them when given evidence to the contrary. He knew his patients well, not just as "cases" but as individual human beings. I remember when I just dropped in on him in the office about a month before my surgery because I was so afraid. He took the time to see me, to talk me down, and to prescribe something for my anxiety. On his way out the door he said, "And Annette, take the damn pills," knowing full well that I was reluctant to take medication. I filled the prescription. It sat unused on the shelf, but knowing it was there got me through the wait for surgery. And so to Andrea, whom I knew as his nurse, and the rest of the family, you have my heartfelt sympathy. May you treasure your memories of this remarkable man. I know I will.

Dr. Pincus was my doctor for over 40 years, until his well deserved retirement. I will miss his quirky sense of humor and his wealth of knowledge. His wife Ruth was a dear friend of my mother (Ann Peters) and I hope it brings some comfort to know Dr. Pincus is reunited with Ruth now. He was a good and decent man who truly cared about his patients. We need more people like him in the world.
My deepest condolences to his family, especially to Andrea, who was always so nice to me when I came to the doctor's office.
Sincerely, Linda Berky

Ralph was our primary care doctor for over 25 years. I (Robert) used to drive him crazy. He would glare at me sometime, advocate for me at other times, laugh with me and guide me. There is not even a question in my mind that I am alive today thanks to everything he did for me.
When I would show up for my appointments and he came into the room he would always start with here is where we are and roll his eyes. This would lead to some interesting discussions but inevitably laughs and a feeling that I had a friend and advocate in my corner. I will miss him.
The best I can do is wish him a RIP and continue to remember everything that he did for me.

Dr. Pincus was such a gentle physician. He had a wonderful way of slowing down the hurried world and making time to talk. Always taking the time to listen, really listen, to his patients. It was a blessing to have him caring for our community.
