My condolences on your loss. My wonderful memories of Claire go back 70 years! We lived in the same apartment building, the Bel-Air, on Monroe Avenue. Claire and Irv were friends of my parents, Florence and Bob Smith. There were no other children my age living there. (Barbara and my baby sister Wendy were in a similar age range).
When I was somewhere between 9 and 13, Claire would invite me to her apartment where we had interesting and inspiring conversations and did artwork together. I appreciated how respectfully she treated me -- almost as an equal -- and was awed by her beauty, her intelligence, her energy and her wide interests.
I am sorry for your loss.
