My sincere condolences to Joyce's family. She was a wonderful woman. I met her many years ago at exercise classes at the JCC and go to know her well through our activities with the Friends of Brighton Memorial Library. Joyce was a truly exceptional person--bright, caring, committed to good causes. I will miss her.

Joyce (with Ed) stood up for my husband at our wedding when he had no one from his world (he's Japanese). Joyce (with Ed) came to visit us in London while we lived there doing our Master's Degrees. Joyce has always welcomed me as a friend, a family member, a daughter, a kindred spirit. She was steadfast, smart, kind, loyal, beautiful, and made just about everybody feel welcome. She was also extremely generous. A good soul. With love, and condolences for the family, Suzanne

How I met Joyce......
Many years ago when Joyce applied for a counselor position in the Webster Schools, Jim Mion and I were given the task of interviewing potential candidates. Joyce was excellent and we both agreed she was our top pick. Joyce was offered the job. Jim and I only had one concern, and it was that others might have concerns that we were influenced by her attractiveness. For the record, she was an excellent candidate who just happened to be attractive.
She will be missed by all who knew her (and Ed). My wife Diane and I enjoyed many vacations and dinners with them both. We will both miss Joyce very, very much.

Dear Debbie and family— I am so very saddened to hear of Joyce’s passing— she was a long time very dear and loving friend for so many years. Dear Debbie, David and Family. We just saw your Mom at Peg’s Mom’s Shiva at Wolk and she looked wonderful. My Dad (Al) was so happy to see her. Lee and Al loved both Ed an Joyce very much and she made them feel so welcome when they moved into the Wolk. She was so caring for your Dad and always was so friendly and warm. We share your grief and we have great sympathy for your loss. She was a great lady.

I helped Joyce and Ed move into the Summit years ago. Their apartment was lovely and Joyce was thrilled to let me show it off to others. She was full of youthful vitality. May her memory be a blessing forever.

Dear Debbie, David, and family,
I am so saddened by the loss of your mother. I had just complimented her on the photo at the graduation! I have wonderful memories of your mom and dad when we lived in Rochester. We had many “hot” bridge games together and so many laughs. The last time I saw her, she had arrived in Boston with 2 broken arms, and yet still managed to stay on a houseboat in Boston Harbor. What a trooper! We will all miss her!

Our hearts are heavy today; Joyce was a remarkable woman whose friendship we valued. We have so many fond memories of Ed and Joyce; she was always a very gracious and generous hostess to us. As a widow, Joyce proved to be a strong and positive woman. Our visits to Rochester will not be the same; we will miss our luncheons and dinners together. She will be truly missed; Joyce was a rare individual...warm, caring, thoughtful and kind. A true woman of valor!G
