This tree is planted in honor of my beloved friend and remarkable woman, JoAnn Umansky Cotter. Trees represent life and take care of the Earth, as Jo took care of her family and friends. Trees teach us to stay rooted while soaring to great heights. That was our JoAnn. Join in honoring their life - plant a memorial tree

I've known JoAnn since we were children attending Southlawn Elementary School. We went to Rogers Middle School and Irondequoit High together as well. Over the years, I have seen her at the front desk in either the main lobby or on the 2nd floor of the Cardiac Cath Unit at RGH. Always a pleasure to talk to, JoAnn was oh so friendly, wearing a grin from ear to ear. She made you feel comfortable and at ease, even at the most nervous and troubling times. JoAnn will be missed. My thoughts and prayers to JoAnn's family.

My deepest condolences go out to JoAnn's family. We went through Southlawn, Rogers and Irondequoit High School together., There were a group of about 10 of us who were close friends throughout. The last time I saw JoAnn was about 5 years ago when I was visiting a friend at Rochester General Hospital and when I got off the elevator, there was JoAnn's smiling face looking at me. She will truly be missed by those that knew her.
