Obituary of Jeffrey Alan Ring

Jeffrey Ring of Rochester, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 30 at his home in Brighton. Jeff was 75 years old. In 1965, Jeff married Judy Jacobson of Buffalo, NY. Together they had two children and lived a very full life. A unique and wonderful soul, Jeff was very kind, loving, helpful, and had an amazing sense of humor. His pride and joy were his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family as well as working at his favorite hobbies. Jeff excelled at building and flying radio controlled airplanes and drones, raising tropical fish, and fixing anything that was broken. His most prized title was that of Grandfather… “Papa Jeff”. He will be greatly missed.

Jeff is survived by his wife Judith [Jacobson]; children Douglas (Beth Lertzman) and Lori (Jason) Weiss; and beloved grandchildren Samantha and Jake Ring; Josh, Alex, and Emily Weiss; sister Nancy Riegler and nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at the James P. Wilmot Cancer Institute and Hospice in Monroe County - Visiting Nurse Foundation for their excellent care.

Funeral service will be held at at 1:00PM on Wednesday May 1st at White Haven Memorial Park, Creation Chapel. The family will receive friends at 40 Middlebrook Lane immediately following the service until 4:00PM and again between 7 & 9:00PM. The family will sit Shiva at 40 Middlebrook on Thursday 2-4:00 & 7-9:00PM and Friday 2-4:00PM. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeff’s honor to the American Cancer Society, Strong Memorial Hospital’s James P. Wilmot Cancer Institute, or Hospice in Monroe County - Visiting Nurse Foundation.
