Obituary of Dr. Perry Eck
Passed away on March 24, 2019, at the age of 79. Predeceased by his wife, Renee Tylim Eck; second wife, Eileen Greenberg Eck; parents, Solo and Sabine Eck; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Sidney Berman; and niece, Diane Saltzberg Kessler. Survived by his children, Sara Eck (Dr. Alan Gruber), Rachel (Scott) Gordon, Stephen “Spleen” (Leigh Calabrese Eck) Eck and Ilana (Etienne Shanon) Eck; the joys of his life, grandchildren, Danielle, Julia, Sydney, Cash Thurston, Jasper, Scarlett and Lyla; sister, Ella Saltzberg; nephew, David (Davida) Saltzberg; sister-in-law, Paula (Irv Zwirn) Tylim Zwirn; step-sons, Robert (Diane) Greenberg and Brian (Lauren) Greenberg; step-grandchildren, Michelle, Callen, Jacob and Ellie; step great-granddaughter, Emma; and many dear friends and colleagues.
Dr. Eck was a Captain in the Vietnam War and was a doctor in a MASH Unit. He had a private practice for almost 40 years and provided care to generations of families. He loved being a doctor and caring for people. He also loved fighting the good fight and was not afraid to share his opinions. He was an avid swimmer, runner and walker, and continued a fitness regime throughout his entire life. He always said, "keep moving”. In retirement he enjoyed being a “snowbird” in Sarasota and visits from his family. He called this his “slice of heaven.” He was philanthropic and supported Israel along with many Jewish charities. He was a generous giver and life long learner.
Funeral Services will be held on THURSDAY MARCH 28, 2019 at 12 Noon in The Social Hall at Temple Beth El located at 139 Winton Road South. Click HERE for a map to Temple Beth El.

The family will sit Shiva on Thursday from 6 – 9 PM, Friday from 12 – 4 PM and Sunday from 12 – 4 PM at 44 Bristol View Drive in Fairport. Click HERE for a map to the Shiva House.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the JCC, Temple Beth El, or a Jewish charity of your choice in Perry’s memory.
