Obituary of Erle J. Rappaport

Erle J. Rappaport Passed away on June 27, 2012 at 85. Predeceased by his parents, Samuel & Ida Rappaport; and siblings, Mitchell, Louis, Pearl & Ethel. Survived by his niece & nephews, Ellen Heit, Martin Heit, Laurence (Blenda) Rappaport & Jonathan (Joyce) Kaplan; great nieces & nephew, Katherine Rappaport, Rebecca (Jeremiah) Clapp & Daniel (Cheryl) Clapp. Erle joined the U.S. Navy in 1945 after graduating from Franklin High School. After discharge, he attended Sampson College, U. of Wyoming, and U. of Michigan, earning degrees in math and physics. He worked as a statistician in the aviation industry for Bell Aircraft and later for Arinc Research Corp. Before returning to Rochester in 2008, Erle lived in Rockville, MD for many years, and he appreciated the cultural offerings of Washington, D.C. He especially enjoyed serving as a volunteer at the National Air and Space Museum. Services & interment will be held privately. The family will be receiving friends on SUNDAY, July 1, from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM in the Sunrise Room at St. John's Home (South Building).
