Rhoda was born and raised in the lower East Side of Manhattan. She moved to Rochester in 1972, where she was a homemaker, and after the kids left the house, she worked for Monroe County for 15 years in the Child Support Department. After retiring, she became a volunteer teacher at the Dudley School in Fairport. Rhoda volunteered every weekend at The Geva Theater.
