Monica & Heath and Hiller family,
We were so saddened to hear of your loss. We remember the joy and love your father shared on your wedding day. He was obviously overjoyed and filled with pride and enjoyed a good simcha. May the love and support of your family and friends ease you during this difficult time.

Dear Hiller Family,
Don was our Professor at RIT and we were blessed to have him for 2 quarters in a row. He was the most inspirational and innovative professor's we have ever had. He always expressed his love and amiration for his family at the beginning of every class. We always looked forward to his wonderful stories. Don will always hold a special place in our hearts as he was a wonderful individual. We are so sorry for your loss. Always know he will be your guiding light.

I read, with regret, of the passing of Don Hiller. Unfortunately, I have never had the pleasure of meeting Don, but I did take over his course when he went in for surgery at the beginning of last quarter. I believe that one can take the measure of a person through viewing their work. If that is true, then the measure of Don that I took from view the preparations in his course is that of a truly remarkable person. It was most evident that he was an extremely competent, dedicated, and caring professional. It is regrettable that I did not have the opportunity to follow up with Don to share my pleasure in following in his well marked path and to thank him again for the thorough preparation of the course he passed on to me -- most especially to meet him personally.
My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Where do I begin to say what I feel?
There are no words to explain Don …so special, so real!
Monica and Aaron’s dad, Nancy’s husband for sure
But he felt like a father to us all, so loving, so pure
Don was one of the warmest and fuzziest people I know
He was surely my second father watching me grow
No jewish event, no simcha, no yom tov will be the same
Don’s smile, hug and laugh was a staple at events, part of his fame
Need a minyan, need a hug, need an ear? Don was there
His warmth, his big heart, his love… no one can compare
Every Yom Tov he descended from the bima and I watched himHug and kiss my dad
The words they exchanged were so heart felt and I felt so glad
To have such friends, such closeness, respect and admiration so true
Don made us all feel like family – we were part of his “special crew”
He was always so proud of his family and kids
I will always cherish my heart to heart with him at Monica’s photo/coffee Expo for we yids.
I see Don beaming, truly enjoying a simcha – he never missed a beat
Don’s presence, his love, his warmth …. Made everything complete
To have such a tzadick in my life, I am so blessed I know
But I speak on behalf of everyone, we were not ready for him to go
He is watching over us all and for sure his most beloved and his greatest pride
His most beautiful family and ultimate love, his most special bride.
Thank you for sharing Don with us! His presence in our life has made such an everlasting impact!
We love you!!
