I met Paula Cassorla in 1966 and since then I remember a very sweet and excellant cook lady with the ladino language speaking with my mother Suzanne her niece. The loss of our parents is very hard even in their 90 and my thought and love is with you dearest Lydia in this difficult period.

Aunt Paula,(Great aunt to Jason and Rachel) had the ability to radiate her warm and lovingly “strong” personality to all who came in contact with her. I was fortunate to have shared that blessing with my children.I will miss her,but never forget her.Memories of being with her holiday times, when she and uncle moe would visit at the warehouse and family dinners when they would come to town for the summer and,of course, her love for chocolate. She will always have a special place in our hearts

Paula will be missed by us all. She was an amazing source of inspiration and a model of grace. Watching her knit left handed, determined to create as she always had, something of beauty without giving in to the limitations imposed on her, put us all in awe of the strength of her character. Cherie to my Shaari,I will miss her affectionate pinch to my cheek. I am so fortunate to have known her.

I will remember Paula's smile, warm personality, great turkish food, and love of life. It was always a pleasure to spend many good times of the years together. How very lucky she was able to live a long wonderful life and watch two beautiful grandchildren grow up. We will miss you, but wonderful treasured memories will always be in our hearts.

I don't think that the death of a person who has lived a long and full life should be looked at as a sad event. It isn't. In some cultures it is even a joyful event. We are part of Nature. For Spinoza, the great Jewish philosopher who, like our family, was of Portuguese origin, thought that Nature's beauty, generosityand perfection was the undeniable proof of the existence of God. So, we come to the world, live our lives as best we can, and we take our leave to go, as Hamlet said so unforgettably: 'to the undiscovered country from whose bourn no traveler returns'. And, finally, Plato was probably right who wrote that the soul is immortal...

Dear all family,
I am writing these sad sentences from Turkey. Tanti's passing is a huge lost for the whole family. My feelings are more than words. Tanti(Paula Cassorla) was a wonderful women with a very strong character. She touched all of our lives and changed it in a beautiful way..I spent more time with Tanti than my grandma and have lots of good memories with her. She always opened her heart and arms to us. We are all so lucky to have had her in our lives. Her legacy is everlasting and I am sure her indelible impression will remain eternal. We will always love her and she will live in our hearts with her great memories forever. And now she rests in peace. We all love you Tanti..
