I knew Mr. Friedman, Alav Hashalom, when we lived in Rochester for 5 years in the late 1980s. We sometimes walked together to or from shul on Shabbos and he shared some of his stories from the old country. May the family be comforted among other mourners of Zion and Jerusalem, and may they sustain his love for and commitment to Jewish tradition.
