Carrie, Ian & Ella, Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of Mark. I am so very sorry for your huge huge loss. He had the warmest, kindest, most wonderful sense of humor as a teacher and human being, always open to whatever the present moment offered. He showed his students how to open up in unique ways and always pointed toward the deeper purpose of learning how to sit. A very enlightened being!

I saw Mark only once in a great while over the years, but each time we had a meaningful conversation, and I could feel he had a wonderful spirit. Our last conversation was just before his passing; he introduced me to his daughter, and then he and I talked at length about Buddhism, spiritual practice, and more -- in short, about the true significance of life and awareness. My heart goes out to all his family and friends. This is a terrible loss for a very large community who obviously loved and respected him deeply.
