Obituary of Maer Leibovici

Maer Leibovici Passed away peacefully on September 24, 2013. Born in 1919 in Galati, Romania, he is predeceased by his wife, Dorica and parents Abraham and Rebecca. He is survived by his daughter, Liliana (Ervin) Goldfain of Syracuse NY; son, Dr. Adrian (Anca) Leibovici of Rochester NY; grandchildren, Albert (Kirsta PhD) Goldfain PhD of Syracuse, Dr. Monica (fiancé, Dan Ranaletta) Leibovici of Rochester and Andrei Goldfain of San Diego Ca; sister, Lutza Tipkis of Tel Aviv; brother in law, Freddy (Manuela) Braier of Holon, Israel; nephews and nieces. He led a long and exemplary life guided by an exceptional intellect, self-discipline, hard work, great sense of humor, an unwavering moral compass and endless love and commitment for his family. We will all miss him. He lived at the Jewish Home for the last year and a half of his life. There, he was surrounded by an extraordinary group of professionals (nursing assistants, nurses, social workers, physician etc.) who treated him with love, respect, warmth, and who provided him with exceptional care. For that we are very grateful. His graveside service will be held WEDNESDAY, September 25th, at 10:00 AM in Mount Hope Cemetery in Range 10. Click here for a map to the cemetery. Please enter the office gate off Mt. Hope Ave. for assistance to the grave. A memorial service, to honor his life, will be scheduled at a date and time to be announced.
