I just learned of Seymour's passing, and was so saddened. It immediately brought back long past memories of both Seymour and Ruthie. They were the first "Americans" my family and I met when we emigrated from the Soviet Union in 1977 and became our family's good friends...there for our biggest milestones...car purchases, home purchase, first jobs, many firsts here in America. They became our second family. I remember summers spent in their pool, jumping on their trampoline with my brother and Karen, and being chased by Sparky. When I hear the song Xanadu, I immediately go back in time to sitting in their backyard with Ms. Ruthie and playing in the pool. I remember Seymour visiting us frequently and us visiting him at Goodman realty. I remember Seymour picking my brother and me up almost every Sunday and taking us to different, fun places. I remember going to Seymour's drive-in theater where I saw Jaws for the first time, hence my phobia of sharks. But, mostly I remember a man devoted to his wife, children, and his grandson; I remember looking up to him and admiring him for his intelligence; loving to hear his stories of his experiences in the military as a young man and about how he met Ruthie. There are so many special moments that I will forever treasure. He and Ruthie embraced our family, and they became our family. May Seymour rest in peace with Ruthie once again by his side, and always look after his family from above. Michael, Karen, Brian, Reece, and the rest of the family...my parents, brother, and I extend to you our deepest condolences. You are all in our thoughts at this very sad time. With our love, Lola, Alex, Neli and Naum Nemirovsky

So sorry for the loss of your father. We remember your parents fondly. Your dad even worked with Ed to purchase his first house. We were honored to be able to make a donation to Wilmot in his memory, but unfortunately did not have an address for your family to send a note. Please know that he is remembered....

Seymour will be dearly missed. Even today, even though it is over 50 years ago, I still have so many warm, happy memories whenever he visited my mom's house ( his Aunt Pauline) in Rochester. He always brought a smile to us He enjoyed my mom's cooking, especially her honey cake. We always enjoyed his visits. Seymour had the gift of making a lasting impression.on all fortunate to be in his company. May he rest in peace.
Love, cousin Judy

My dear sweet brother Seymour is finally at rest. He died peacefully in Karen's arms which gives me comfort knowing that he was not alone.
Seymour was my big brother who was always kind, considerate and caring of me and to everyone else he knew. He was also very wise as well as very intelligent...a self-taught and avid reader of history and religion, he could have been a high school or college professor. He mentored many people both personally and professionally and we are the better for his life. His name shall always be for a blessed memory.
Loving sister,
Carol

Sy was always interesting company. His knowledge and ability to share information in a meaningful way was an educational experience each time I met him. He and Ruth shared their home, their time, their food and themselves in a warm friendly manner. He will be missed but remembered fondly.
