Obituary of Martin Rosenberg
Dr. Martin Rosenberg, born June 3, 1925 and died November 15, 2013. He was the son of Dr. Harold L. and Sadie Fink Rosenberg. Born in Rochester, he graduated from Monroe High School and the University of Rochester where he belonged to Kappa Nu fraternity. Dr. Rosenberg served as an X-Ray technician in the Army during the Battle of the Bulge. Following his military service, he completed his undergraduate studies and attended New York University Dental School, where he received his D.D.S degree in 1951. He practiced dentistry in Rochester for 41 years, with offices on Hudson Avenue, in the Sibley Tower Building, and on Alexander Street.
A prominent figure in the local Jewish Community, Dr. Rosenberg served as president of the Jewish Family Service and was a member of the board of directors of Temple Beth El. He also was troop leader of Troop 3 of the Boy Scouts at Temple Beth El.
Dr. Rosenberg enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, playing the piano and playing bridge.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carol Golden Rosenberg; sons and daughters-in-law, Arnold Rosenberg and Linda Ardent Rosenberg, Philip Rosenberg and Dr. Penny Levin, Charles Rosenberg and Pauline Kolman Rosenberg; sister Dwaine Levy; brother-in-law, Mort Levy; grandchildren, Julian, Sarina, Nina, Brenna, Eliott & Samuel.
Funeral Services will be held SUNDAY November 17th at 1 PM in the Rabbi Abraham Solomon Chapel at Temple Beth El, 139 South Winton Road Click for a Map to Temple. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.
A period of mourning will be observed at the Summit at Brighton on Sunday 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Monday & Tuesday 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Click for a Map to the Summit
