Dear Ellen & Nate,
I just found out about Alice's passing. I was shocked! If I had known I would have been at the funeral if up to it. Alice's smile lit up the world. She was a special human being who made everyone feel good just being in her presence. The world is a sadder place with her passing. Dear Ellen & Nate, Alice always had a smile on her face when I saw her at schul, the NA'AMAT meetings and donor dinner or the hosiery section at Forman's. Mom & I always had to stop and say hello. She was a beautiful woman and her warmth and charm will always be a treasured memory. My condolences to you. Ellen, I have such fond memories of all the Na'Amat donor dinners with you and your Mom. I also remember going downtown shopping with my Mom when I was young and we always stopped at the B.Forman hosiery department to visit with your Mom. She was such a sweet woman. Years and years ago as a trainee at B. Forman's I was asked one day to fill in for Alice in "hosiery". This was back in the day when customers were offered choice of not only size ,but, gauge, denier, and length. When I would pose these choices to the ladies, invariably the response was, "I don't know, Alice knows." At the end of the day after hearing "I don't know, Alice knows" for the seemingly time, I realized the meaning of truly great customer service. Best class in retailing I ever took 'cause there was no way any of these women would buy hosiery from any store but B. Forman's. ...And today's fad of going bare legged...probably started when Alice retired. Was a pleasure to have been an understudy. Ginger Simonetti

Living in California I didn't spend too much time with Alice. But in that little time, it was easy to see that Alice was one of the sweetest people I've know. I will miss her on my future trips to Rochester. My sincere condolences to the Ellen, Nate and the rest of the family.

I can't even remember a time in my life when I didn't know Alice and her family. She was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed. Howard and I send our sincere sympathy and love.
Visitation
The family will sit Shiva at the family home starting SUNDAY May 1st from 4-6 PM, MONDAY May 2nd 7-9 PM and TUESDAY May 3rd 7 - 9 PM.
Service Info
Funeral Services will be held on MONDAY, April 25, 2016 at 1 PM at Temple Beth El located at 139 Winton Road South.
