Obituary of Irving Mann

Irving Mann Passed away on March 6, 2015, with his family by his side, just shy of his 90th birthday. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Gertrude & parents, Alexander & Ida Mann. He is survived by his loving children, Nancy (David Appelbaum) Mann & Robert (Charlotte) Mann; his grandchildren, Allison & Victoria Appelbaum & Cole & Sophia Mann; in addition to many close cousins and friends. Irving was the co-founder of Mann's Jewelers & together with his partner, Gert, worked tirelessly for over 60 years. Irv was a Veteran of World War II, who served in the 90th Infantry Div. under General Patton & landed on D-Day, the French Invasion of Normandy. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star & French Legion of Honor. He served on the Boards of Rochester General Hospital & the Jewish Home Foundation. Irving was a joy to all who had the honor to know him. He will be irreplaceably missed. A special thank you to all the close family, co-workers, caregivers & friends who so positively impacted the quality of his life. Your love & support will be forever remembered by our family. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 1 PM in the Sanctuary of Temple Beth El (139 Winton Rd. S.). Click here for directions to temple. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery.
