John and Susan:
I am saddened to hear of your father's passing. He was a wonderful man, and a good friend to me, my sisters, and my mother. I have many fond memories of the years when we lived in the same apartment building, and would stay up late at night discussing but rarely resolving all the world's problems. I still remember the night I was brushing snow from my car in the parking lot and he brought your mom home and told us they'd been married.
I know that recent years were not kind to your Dad. I hope that, like me, you can remember and cherish those earlier, more vital, and joyous days. On behalf of the whole Thomas family, our deepest sympathies and heartfelt wishes for your peace.
