Obituary of Abe Bernard Axelrod

Axelrod, A. Bernard "Abe" "Bernie" Rochester: January 17, 2008 after 91 wonderful years. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, T'Mahry; children, Ronald (Lynda) Axelrod, Stuart (Rachel) Axelrod, Harley Axelrod, and Hyla (Richard) Mink; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. After graduating from Brockport State College, he was a special education teacher for 5 years before joining the US Air Corps. where he taught radio communications. He then founded Axelrod Wood Products which grew to become the premiere millwork manufacturing facility in Western New York. He was a longtime member of Temple Beth El and Irondequoit Country Club. A true personification of the "Gutta Neshama" he was proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but most of all his "T'Mahry". Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at 2 PM in the Rabbi Abraham Solomon Chapel at Temple Beth El (139 Winton Road S.). (Click here for directions). Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. Shiva will be held at 350 Ashbourne Rd. on Sunday from 7-9 PM and Monday thru Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
