Helen was such a joy to know! Over the 20 years that we were neighbors, we shared stories and enjoyed being out in the front yard or walking down the block together. Brian and I became absolutely addicted to her Passover cookies, and we looked forward to a new batch each spring. I feel so fortunate to have had my life touched by this remarkable woman! She will be missed. Sending thoughts and prayers to the family... wishing you peace.

Though I knew Helen for only the last ten years, my time with her with endure in my memory forever. I was blessed to listen to an occassional story from times past and her life's journey. She was a remarkable women. Once, I was surprised with the gift of a delicious coffee cake and to this day, coffee cakes remind me of her warmth and those wonderful times spent together.

I was sorry to read of Helen's passing especially since it is about a month after Irma Meier's passing. Helen & Irma were best friends & great volunteers for the Strong Memorial Gift Shop, more than 25 years ago, when I met them as a volunteer for Infant Hearing Alert. Occasionally we had coffee together & talked about our lives as German Jews. Helen frequently talked about her granddaughter who was studying Arabic and her son's illness. My husband & I returned to Canada in 1994, thus I lost touch with them, but have I have not forgotten them!
