My heart is breaking. My dear friend and lifelong cheerleader is gone. I don’t believe there is a single person on earth who had more impact on who I am as an adult, as a member of the community, as a professional and as a volunteer than Ruth. Until our very last visit together she encouraged me, inspired me and lifted me up. Her belief in my abilities was often what I turned to when life was less than encouraging. Ruth was all in, all the time. She made no excuses and didn’t allow those she cared about to make any either. To my benefit she never took no for an answer. I will treasure our friendship for the rest of my life and always be grateful that she was on my side rooting me along. Rest well my beloved friend. To Mel and her family, may her memory forever be a blessing and inspiration. Much love from Louis, our children and especially from me
