My condolences to you, friend of many decades. I cannot not imagine the depth of your sorrow, because the your mother was a part of your life for so long. Given our ages, the sense of loss remains deep. May your mother's memory always be a blessing to you as you remember the good days of close family and friends connections.
May the good days of Park Avenue, Camp Marcus, Temple Beth El, and even Monroe High reunite us.

Mr. & Mrs. S. Fine were our first landlords at 101 Vassar Street when we moved from Syracuse in 1964. The rent was $80 per month and I remember being distraught when it was increased to $85. Those were the days, eh? Mrs. Fine was a caring and wonderful person, who I managed to keep in touch with over the years with Holiday greeting cards. I will miss her and share your loss. Please accept my deepest condolences.
