As Ruth's first cousin, and oldest surviving family member in Rochester, I fondly remember taking her to lunch (and Dr's appointments and the hospital).Helene was a welcome companion, keeping Ruth engaged in conversation. The evening before Ruth died I brought her the usual chocolate candy bar hoping it would revive her as one had done a few weeks previously. I hope it was enjoyed by the people who took such compassionate care of her in her last days. I feel that I did what I could ... while she was alive.
